At a Glance

  • I’m Chris, 54, from Southeast Missouri
  • I had a triple bypass and I’m still rebuilding
  • This site is a record of that rebuild, not advice
  • Most of what I write fits into three pillars: Healthspan, Lifespan, and A Level 10 Life
  • I’m not an expert. I’m just writing down what I’m trying, what I’m learning, and how it’s going

Welcome to This Old Man’s Life

I’m Chris.

This site is where I document what I’m rebuilding in this season of life, from health and mindset to home, habits, and the everyday work of trying to live better.

It started from real-life wake-up calls. My mother’s dementia changed the way I thought about aging, and my own heart scare and triple bypass surgery forced me to take a harder look at how I was living.

This is not expert advice or polished self-help. It’s a personal record of what I’m trying, what’s helping, what isn’t, and what I’m learning as I go.

If you only read a few things here, start with My Journey, Healthspan, and A Level 10 Life.

If you want the longer version, read My Journey

If You Only Read 3 Things, Start Here

These will give you the clearest picture of what this site is and why it exists.

1. My Unexpected Journey to Triple Bypass Surgery– The wake-up call that changed everything.

2. Cardiac Rehab– What recovery looked like for me once I got home and had to start rebuilding.

3. A Level 10 Life – The simple system I use to keep track of the bigger picture.

Where I’m At Right Now

Right now I’m focused on getting my health in better shape, rebuilding my routines, and trying to build a life that feels worth living instead of just endured.

Some of what I write is about health.
Some of it is about mindset.
Some of it is about the house, projects, work, money, and the day-to-day mess of starting over.

To me, it’s all the same rebuild.
